Mandy Patinkin was on CBC's Q while on tour in Toronto. He spoke with host Tom Power about life and music, including his new album, Children and Art. "I love these songs. They are songs that talk to me right now, at this moment," Patinkin says. "Whether it's funny, sad, meaningful, connective, they're all like little remembrances or prayers to me, or recollections ... But I guess more than anything, they're about finding the light for me." You can watch the conversation here.

Mandy Patinkin was on CBC's Q ahead of his performance at Ed Mirvish Theatre in Toronto last week. He spoke with host Tom Power about life, death, and music, including the songs he chose for his new album, Children and Art, with producer/pianist Thomas Bartlett. You can watch the conversation below.

"I love these songs. They are songs that talk to me right now, at this moment," Patinkin says. "Whether it's funny, sad, meaningful, connective, they're all like little remembrances or prayers to me, or recollections ... But I guess more than anything, they're about finding the light for me."

On Children and Art, Patinkin performs songs by Randy Newman, Laurie Anderson, Lyle Lovett, Taylor Mac, Stephen Sondheim, Tom Waits, Rufus Wainwright, Taylor Mac, Teitur, and Patinkin himself. To pick up a copy, head to your local music shop or the Nonesuch Store, where CD orders include a download of the complete album at checkout; the album is also available on Amazon and iTunes and can be heard at Apple Music and Spotify.
