Nickel Creek recently stopped by Last.fm to discuss their new album, A Dotted Line, and the band's officially reuniting for the first time since its 2007 self-described "indefinite hiatus." The trio—Chris Thile, Sara Watkins, and Sean Watkins—also performs two songs from the new album, "Destination" and "Rest of My Life." Nickel Creek recently stopped by the Last.fm studios to discuss their new album, A Dotted Line, and the story behind the band's officially reuniting for the first time since its 2007 self-described “indefinite hiatus.” The trio—Chris Thile (mandolin/vocals), Sara Watkins (fiddle/vocals), and Sean Watkins (guitar/vocals)—also performs two songs from the new album, "Destination" and "Rest of My Life." You can watch the interview and performances below.

Following the first leg of the tour supporting A Dotted Line earlier this spring, the band meets up again for the Telluride Bluegrass Festival later this month, then kicks off a summer tour at the Meijer Gardens Amphitheatre in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on July 9. For details on all of the currently scheduled shows and tickets, visit nonesuch.com.

To pick up a copy of A Dotted Line, head to iTunes or the Nonesuch Store, where vinyl and CD orders include a download of the complete album at checkout. And apologies to folks who've pre-ordered the vinyl, which was due to arrive last week and is now scheduled to ship this week.

    Kronos Quartet's Album 'Pieces of Africa' Inducted Into National Recording Registry at Library of Congress

    Congratulations to Kronos Quartet, whose acclaimed 1992 Nonesuch album Pieces of Africa has been named one of twenty-five recordings to be inducted into the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress for 2024. "It planted a seed for our work," Kronos founder and violinist David Harrington says of the album. "It's flowered so beautifully."
