Nickel Creek have performed a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR's All Songs Considered, featuring four songs from the group's new album, A Dotted Line. "Nickel Creek was made to sing and play around a single microphone, so a Tiny Desk Concert seemed inevitable," says All Songs Considered host Bob Boilen. "The trio, backed here by bassist Mark Schatz, has no equal. Nickel Creek has been doing this on and off since its members were kids, and what blows me away is the comfort and ease with which they navigate their instruments. Nickel Creek's 2014 tour of the United States is winding down, with four more stops out West in the week ahead: in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. Earlier this week, the band—Chris Thile, Sara Watkins, and Sean Watkins—was in Austin, Texas, for two shows at ACL Live at the Moody Theater and a taping of Austin City Limits for broadcast on PBS this coming season. During a recent tour stop in Washington, DC, Nickel Creek stopped by the NPR studios to perform a Tiny Desk Concert for All Songs Considered, featuring four songs from the group's recently released Nonesuch debut album, A Dotted Line: "Destination," "Rest of My Life," "21st of May," and "Elephant In The Corn."
