The concert opens with a special surprise for Thile, who happened to be celebrating a birthday that day, followed by a Punch Brothers performance of four songs from their new album, The Phosphorescent Blues: "My Oh My," "Boll Weevil," "Magnet," and "Julep."
"This wasn't the first time the brilliant mandolinist had brought a project to my desk, it was his fourth," says Tiny Desk host Bob Boilen.
