Rachael & Vilray, the duo of singer/songwriter Rachael Price (Lake Street Dive) and guitarist/singer/songwriter Vilray, stopped by WNYC Studios in New York City as guests on New Sounds’ Soundcheck, hosted by John Schaefer. They performed three songs from their new album, I Love a Love Song!—“Is A Good Man Real?,” “Hate Is The Basis (of Love),” and “Join Me in a Dream”—and spoke with Schaefer about the album. I Love a Love Song!, the second album from Rachael & Vilray, features eleven new songs written by Vilray plus the 1930s classic "Goodnight My Love" written by Mack Gordon and Harry Revel. The album was produced, engineered, and mixed by Dan Knobler and features arrangements from Jacob Zimmerman. Rachael & Vilray’s music’s “easy-swinging mini-big-band arrangement is as cozy as it is sophisticated,” says the New York Times.
