Randy Newman is the guest on this week's episode of On Canvas, the performing arts program from Philadelphia public television station WHYY. The Emmy Award-winning show features intimate artist interviews and great performances. Newman's performance was recorded at the Scottish Rite Theatre in Collingswood, New Jersey, shortly before the release of his latest Nonesuch Release, Songbook Vol. 2, this spring.

Philadelphia-area fans can tune in tonight at 10 PM ET and again on Sunday afternoon at 4:30 PM on WHYY. While touring in support of his 2008 album Harps and Angels, Randy Newman performed a special concert at London’s intimate LSO St. Luke’s accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra led by Robert Ziegler. The program, featuring songs from throughout Newman’s career, was televised by the BBC. Nonesuch Records will release this concert as Randy Newman: Live in London on November 8; the CD/DVD package is available now for preorder in the Nonesuch Store. Time Out London calls it "essential viewing for fans."
