Randy Newman, whose new live performance CD+DVD Live in London is out now on Nonesuch Records, made his Austin City Limits television debut this past weekend when ACL, the longest-running live music television series in history, presented an episode dedicated exclusively to his work on PBS stations across the United States. The set list for this Saturday's show features 17 songs from throughout Newman's career, including favorites like "Short People," "Political Science," and "You Can Leave Your Hat On," each of which he performs on his new Live in London CD+DVD as well. Live in London features a special concert Newman performed at London’s intimate LSO St. Luke’s accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra. In the UK, where the CD+DVD is out this week, the Independent and the Daily Mail each give the new release four stars. The Sunday Times calls it "essential listening for anyone who cares about the art of songwriting."
