Plant's still got the vocal chops and stadium charisma." The Guardian calls him "hero." Metro says "Plant still very much has the voice and all of the cool." Robert Plant and his band the Sensational Space Shifters took the Glastonbury Festival's main Pyramid Stage on Saturday evening, performing what the BBC calls "one of the most musically diverse sets of the day," featuring songs from throughout his storied career, from Led Zeppelin to his forthcoming album, lullaby and... The Guardian gives four stars to the Glastonbury set, which reviewer Mark Beaumont sums up with one word to describe Plant: "Hero." His colleague at the Guardian Alexis Petridis calls Plant "a study in communicable enthusiasm ... Plant's voice is in fantastic shape."
The Independent's Jamie Merrill says Plant "knew how to work the crowd into a fit state for the hour ... An encore of 'Rock and Roll' delighted the gathering fans at the Pyramid Stage who found a big act worth putting their hands in the air for."
Metro, riffing off the band's name, calls Plant "sensational," and says the set "is without a doubt a Glastonbury special and Robert Plant still very much has the voice and all of the cool." Uncut says that Plant and the band "feel more organically rooted in this Arcadian glade setting than anyone else on the Glastonbury bill."
