Sara Watkins performed "When It Pleases You," off her new album, Sun Midnight Sun, on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on CBS last Thursday. In case you missed it or want to see it again, you can watch the performance here. Watkins and fellow Nonesuch artist Shawn Colvin joined Garrison Keillor and the cast of A Prairie Home Companion for the show this weekend, now available online. Watkins performs "You and Me" and "Take Up Your Spade" off the new album; Colvin plays "Change Is on the Way," off her new album, All Fall Down.

Sara Watkins, whose new album, Sun Midnight Sun, has now been released worldwide on Nonesuch Records performed a song off the record, "When It Pleases You," written by Dan Wilson, on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on CBS last Thursday. Watkins joined Garrison Keillor and the cast of A Prairie Home Companion for two shows at Wolf Trap's Filene Center in Vienna, Virginia, this weekend, including a live broadcast performance on Saturday; also on the show was fellow Nonesuch artist Shawn Colvin, who has a new album of her own, All Fall Down, out June 5. Watkins performs "You and Me" and "Take Up Your Spade" off the new album, among other tunes; Colvin plays her new album track "Change Is on the Way," among others. Also on the shows is singer Heather Masse, plus The Royal Academy of Radio Actors; Tim Russell, Sue Scott, and sound effects man Mr. Fred Newman, a trio of horns sits in with The Guy's All-Star Shoe Band, and the latest News from Lake Wobegon.     Congratulations to Kronos Quartet, whose acclaimed 1992 Nonesuch album Pieces of Africa has been named one of twenty-five recordings to be inducted into the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress for 2024. "It planted a seed for our work," Kronos founder and violinist David Harrington says of the album. "It's flowered so beautifully."
