The Black Keys, whose new album, El Camino, is just one day away, due out tomorrow on Nonesuch, were featured on the latest edition of NPR's Weekend Edition Sunday yesterday. Band mates Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney spoke with host Audie Cornish about their process for making the new record, the sounds and influences behind it, and expectations following the success of their last album, the Grammy-winning Brothers. In the UK, where the album is out today, the Evening Standard gives the album four stars, calling it “fiery, raucous and ferocious fun.” The Daily Telegraph gives it four stars as well. "El Camino is a rambunctious rock-and-roll album, bristling with ballsy attitude and two-chord economy," writes Telegraph reviewer James Lachno. "Few bands right now do it better." The Independent on Sunday named El Camino its CD of the Week. "The Black Keys have grown into one of the most exciting rock bands of our time," exclaims reviewer Sammy Richman. "Too late for those album of the year polls?"

Just hours before the Morning Edition Sunday piece aired, The Black Keys performed as musical guests on Saturday Night Live on NBC Saturday night. They performed two songs off of El Camino: "Lonely Boy"—the first single and the instant download available with album pre-orders in the Nonesuch Store, the Black Keys store, and iTunes—and "Gold on the Ceiling."
