Wilco is back on tour in North America, and after their year-delayed stop in Winnipeg this past weekend (last summer's show there was canceled due to chicken pox in the band), the Winnipeg Sun's David Schmeichel says the band more than made up for it "with a typically dynamo set" that rates four stars.
After pointing to high points from each of the individual band members, Schmeichel draws attention to "Company in My Back," from their Grammy-winning 2004 album A Ghost Is Born, for providing "a sweet showcase for the band's well-honed hybrid of mid-'90s alt-country and '70s-influenced AM gold."
Judging by the performance, says Schmeichel, "it's safe to say we'd be willing to wait out another sick day for the next show."
